Worst PIzza EVER and Fried Chicken Wednesday!

So yeah...I think the first part of the title says everything. Tuesday night I had the worst pizza I've ever had. It was supposed to be a bacon spinach alfredo. I like bacon, oddly enough I like (properly cooked) spinach, and alfredo is fairly awesome. SO I thought I'd try it. Big mistake. First of fall, the spinach wasn't too good, and made up most of the toppings. Then there were the onions. Why, I'm not sure. There was no bacon to speak of, and almost no Alfredo. I'm under the impression that they think Mozzarella is the same as every other type of cheese besides American and Cheddar. All said, worst pizza EVER!

On a different note, apparently Lunchtime's rolls are leftover from the previous night. So that's what you have to do to get soft bread there.

Fried Chicken Wednesday is one of Jenny's favorite meals at the Caf. Their fried chicken is actually really good. I also had a Taco Quesadilla that was also pretty good. Jenny wouldn't have liked the sour cream, but we choose to disagree there :P It was definately better than their normal black bean quesadilla.

I'm still looking for friends who want to write on the food at UAH. Just contact me by email or on facebook if you are interested.

Make up post and New Chikfilla

Sorry for my silence yesterday, was busy taking care of band business during lunch yesterday. And what was lunch, you may ask? Chicken Parmesan, garlic bread, and Pepperoni Pizza.

First off, the Chicken Parmesan. It was a fried frankenchicken patty, smothered in marinara sauce, and topped with Mozzarella. Alright, but far from authentic. And I have yet to figure out where the Parmesan comes into the equation.

As for the Garlic Bread...is it to much to ask for bread that is still soft? I'd take stale and soft, but rock hard? And it had enough garlic to make me my own personal vampire repellant.

The crust of the pizza was also rock hard, but the pizza was edible. Not saying much considering the cast iron stomach I inherited from my Louisiana ancestors.

In speaking if lunch, I took the opportunity today to check out the new Chik Filla on campus. The spicy chicken sandwich I had matched franchise specs, but that area did not have anywhere near enough seating. And the no free refills bothered me to. On my way out I stopped by the "Convenience Store"...which aside from one very small shelf, had all food stuffs. But it did have charcoal, which intrigued my inner pyromaniac. Lighter + Charcoal + Tshirt cannon = ?? Could be fun!

Till supper, see ya!

Ah, a new year....

Okay, I've thought about this for a while, and me and Jen talked it over last year over many shared meals here. Let's face it, the vast majority of the food at UAH is barely edible.

So when UAH demanded that I, a 26 year old student living off campus, get a meal plan, I protested. I signed the petition. I sent angry emails. The fact is, the decision was shoved down our throats.

SO if complaining about having the meal plan didn't work, I'll complain about the food.

It's Sunday, which means classes start tomorrow. I was on campus trying to take care of some Pep Band business. Got hungry, meal plan was active, so I stopped by to get some food. Today's menu: Roast beef, a roll, green beans, and a hamburger.

The Roast beef was alright. Wasn't great, by anyone's definition. It was spiced oddly, and very oily (not juicy, oily). In my opinion, not worth it.

The roll was almost hard, and a tad bit stale. Par for the course here.

The green beans were actually halfway decent today. They had a buttery under taste that complimented, not overpowered, the natural flavor of the green beans.

Then my old stand by. The Hamburger. Standard school food soy patty-cheese-whatever you put on it deal. Not great, but edible in a pinch.

I'm going to try to do this every time I eat on campus. I'll have reviews of the Chik-Filla and Papa Johns from time to time, though that's on the other side of campus from my classes.

Until tomorrow, See ya

PS. I'm always looking for more people willing to complain. Contact me if you'd like to post here too.
